The story
A bright morning
Every morning, Peacilu flew above the clouds with an olive branch in his beak. He loved hearing children laugh as they played below.
The red ball
One sunny day, two children reached for the same red ball. “I had it first!” said one. “No, I did!” said the other.
A gentle pause
Peacilu landed on the fence. “Let’s pause,” he said. “Tell each other what happened, one at a time. Then listen with kind ears.”
They listened
The children took turns speaking. Then they saw the ball had rolled between them. “Oh!” they said. “We both reached for it.”
A game for two
“Let’s share it,” said one child. They rolled the ball back and forth. Soon, the game felt fun again.
Someone nearby
Then they noticed another child watching quietly from the edge of the playground.
Come play
“Would you like to play with us?” the children asked. The child smiled and stepped closer.
Peace grows
Soon, all three children were passing the red ball and laughing together. Peacilu smiled. “Peace begins when we listen. It grows when we make room for one another.”
One kind choice
Peacilu flew toward the bright sky. “One kind choice can be shared by everyone!” he called. Below, the children kept playing together.
