01 / WHY WE EXIST

Peace has never had a marketing budget.

Political campaigns, brands and weapons have powerful systems for reaching people. Peace deserves the same persistence and professional care.

Our mission is to promote peace, confront the human cost of war and authoritarian violence, and help people recognize the choices made in their name. We speak for civilians everywhere, regardless of nationality, religion or border.

We aim to be clear about our values and careful with facts. Where we report a claim, we will identify its source. Where we express a view, we will say so plainly.

Orders do not erase conscience.

History showed how ordinary people could accept cruelty when authority approved it. Today, civilians are still attacked and families are still torn apart. A human life does not lose its value when violence is organized by a state.

Responsibility belongs to people and their actions, not to whole nationalities or faiths. The lesson of history is vigilance, not revenge.

Not hatred. Not vengeance. Responsibility.

OUTSIDE KYIV · A MEMORY WE CARRY

Twelve men.
A debt of gratitude.

Outside Kyiv, in the midst of the fighting, a team of twelve men protected Veronika and me. We were there ourselves. These photographs preserve the faces of people whose courage and kindness we will never forget.

We do not know what has happened to them since. I fear that many, perhaps all, may have lost their lives. That uncertainty is painful. They are human beings to us, never just a number.

Experiences like this are why we committed ourselves to The World Human Peace Foundation: to promote peace, oppose war, and keep human lives at the centre of every conversation. Our gratitude to those who protected us remains part of that purpose.

“Never again” begins with our choices.

Across beliefs, a shared duty to protect life

Across religious and secular traditions, people teach compassion, dignity and respect for life. Yet leaders still invoke faith and identity to divide communities and justify war.

Parents across borders want their children to live. We ask people to live the principles of peace they profess: reject the dehumanization of others, question calls to violence, and act with care for civilians.

REMEMBRANCE & RESPONSIBILITY

Never again must mean something.

We remember the roughly 80 million lives lost in the Second World War. Every person had a family, a story and a future. Auschwitz-Birkenau stands as a warning of where dehumanization and unchecked power can lead. We remember those murdered there and the countless people harmed by war and persecution. Memory asks us to protect human dignity now.
